Healing Songs for a Harsh World

Rosi's songs tell stories we can relate to. Her melodies enchant, and she creates a casual living room energy wherever she plays. With her first guitar in 6th grade, Rosi followed a breadcrumb trail behind Joan Baez to Appalachian traditional music and music designed to change the world. By college, she was writing songs designed to inspire, and performing at local and regional venues and music festivals across the country.

Soft Hills was her 1987 album on cassette, made in her hometown, Des Moines, Iowa. Since then, she has lived and performed in Washington, DC, and now is in Burlington Vermont, where she has returned to her music with new vigor after a long hiatus.

“Just Right Now” invites the listener to sink into a sensory experience of a walk in the woods. “He Made Things” is a journey into her dad’s basement workshop. "Soft Hills" is a love song to the women and land of Iowa, and now, to the women and land of Vermont

After a long detour into a career in organizational leadership and development, Rosi picked up her instruments and her songwriting pencil in early 2024. It was then she met Sallie Mack, a long-time Vermont musician and founder of the Ripton Coffeehouse. Sallie has done more than her part to keep the music scene of Vermont thriving through her own music and by helping to ensure other fine artists are heard. Together they are weaving their originals and covers with harmonies, guitars and bass.

Together and separately, Rosi and Sallie  weave a diverse and adventuresome path with duets and distinctive solos that span folk, jazz, and even rock and blues. And, there is always room for singing along!
